Mentorship

Here is what Claudia Harrison, one of the students I mentor, posted about her Mentorship experience with me on thumbtack:

"It is not often that one comes across the opportunity to work for and learn from such an amazing and accomplished artist as Tamara Hergert. After working on projects with her for a few years, I have learned so much and would highly recommend her as a mentor for anyone who is even curious about art or design. Tamara has many talents, from painting murals, like the one on proud display at Axekickers in Seattle, to illustrating children’s books, to the intricacies entrepreneurship. She displays her skill set at every turn whether it be dealing with a clients needs and wants to problem solving a color match for a mural on the spot. I could not have asked for a better arts mentor. Not only does she excel at physically making art but she also excels in her approaches to the business end of it. She always finds a way to satisfy the client while simultaneously creating an amazing piece of art. Its fascinating to see her work and one of the best parts about being her mentee is that I get hands on experience. I learned how to mix colors, tips and tricks of the trade like how to hold the brush for certain strokes and invaluable knowledge about running a business. I love working with her because I learn something new everyday. I highly recommend Tamara Hergert as a mentor/educator."
